The African Continental Championships for MTB XCO is being held in Windhoek, Namibia from 12-14 April 2019. Both UCI and non-UCI categories will be catered for, with the non-UCI categories open to all that wish to enter.
The South African team for the 2019 African Continental XCO Champs has been announced and South Africa has a strong contingent taking part.
Mariska Strauss is the current South African XCO Champion.
The elite women to take on the championships are some of South Africa's most successful XCO racers. Each and every one of them has achieved success both locally and internationally in XCO and marathon racing.
Our U23 hopeful, Tiffany Keep has had a stellar year already with wins in numerous cycling disciplines, including road and marathon titles. She looks like one to watch for the title.
Five juniors line up for the junior women's title. This is another great showing that we have some great up and coming youngsters in the ranks and the future looks bright for XCO in the country.
